POSITION OVERVIEW

BDC aims to increase its impact on the Canadian economy by fueling the dreams of entrepreneurs through access to financial solutions and holistic support. Central to this is the ambition to reach more entrepreneurs, especially level the odds of those underserved, by leveraging lending partnerships. The Community Banking unit is a vehicle for this strategy, deploying transformative financing and non-financing solutions through meaningful relationships with external partners (B2B2C model).

Reporting to the Director of Community Banking, Solutions Delivery, the selected candidate will play a key role managing the day-to-day operations of the products and working closely and collaboratively with colleagues in solution design, delivery and partnerships support to meet our ambitious goals. The team is looking for a motivated and execution-oriented individual who can contribute to the operations of the products/partnerships across Community Banking (Loan Guarantee, HASCAP, Futurpreneur, Face, and other new products), as well as contribute to solution design/delivery of new products.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Against this background, BDC is looking for a passionate, committed individual to join the Community Banking (CB) team. The core responsibilities will include:

  • Lead day-to-day transactions for loan guarantees and other financial products under Community Banking. Responsibilities include receiving partner requests, analyzing them, obtaining authorization through the appropriate Delegation of Authority (DoA), communicating decisions to partners, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as Financing, Special Accounts and Accounting to support the Community Banking product and operations
  • Manage the Community Banking reporting and operational requirements, such as extracting and distributing monthly Loan Intake Forms and Authorization Reports, leading quarterly invoicing processing, and managing sharepoint/third-party access requests
  • Own and manage the partner operational requirements, including tracking key metrics/SLAs/covenants/audit requirements, the subsequent escalation process, and the maintenance of that process.
  • Oversee shared inboxes and provide frontline support to financial institution (FI) partners.
  • Contribute to the management of partnerships and solutions data reporting: track, measure and analyze KPIs to evaluate impact and identify areas for adjustment
  • Support partnership launch (eg. co-lending/loan guarantees with Fiancial institutions or community partners), management, and renewal by working closely with the delivery, partnership, and design teams.
  • Build and manage the data governance/access for the CB SharePoint data
  • Contribute to a centre of expertise and determine impacts and support the implementation of new financial solutions or platforms, identify and land continuous improvement opportunities to CB processes

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the financial services sector and/or operations
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
