Reports to: Manager of Professional Practice

Salary Range: $49.86 - $62.32 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Status: Permanent Full Time

Position Summary Toronto Rehab (TR) is a leader in adult rehabilitation and complex continuing care. It brings together innovative patient care, ground-breaking research and diverse education to help people overcome or recover from disabling injury, illness or age-related conditions.

Reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the APNE, Toronto Rehab, will be a member of the TR Practice Leadership Team, championing professional practice initiatives and working closely with program-based educators to provide practice-based educational support to TR nurses and PSWs across University Centre, Lyndhurst Centre and Bickle Centre.

Duties

  • Possess a set of core competencies fundamental to developing and advancing best practices at the point-of-care
  • Staff education and development, together with other educators
  • Promote and enhance interprofessional collaboration
  • Facilitate knowledge translation into practice, as well as leadership and change management
  • Proficient in assessing staff learning needs, and be able to develop, deliver and evaluate educational programs
  • Collaborate with unit managers, other educators and stakeholders to support various practice-based or clinical care projects
  • Contribute to scholarship, a culture of inquiry and research, as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and able to practice without restrictions
  • Masters degree in Nursing or Education required
  • Previous experience as an Educator preferred
  • Experience in Rehab, Complex Continuing Care and/or Transitional Care, and/or Acute care environment preferred
  • Completion of leadership and/or specialty-specific certification program(s) relevant to respective clinical areas, preferred
  • Theoretical and practical experience in adult education including learning needs assessment, educational program planning, curriculum design, and evaluation
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
  • Excellent leadership, project/change/time management, facilitation skills
  • Ability to be adaptable and travel to multiple sites, build trust, provide coaching and collaboration, facilitate change and promote continuous improvement
  • Ability to motivate staff and create an environment conducive to learning and team building
  • Able to lead and work effectively in an interprofessional team environment
  • Able to effectively use information technology
