This position can be based in Labrador West or Fly In Fly Out from our St. John’s office to our mine site in Labrador West. Shift will be 7 days on, 7 days off rotation (days and nights).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor quality and recovery, advise CROs to make changed to keep within targets and specifications or optimize process.
  • Communicating with mine team to ensure good ore blend coming in the plant.
  • Monitor process variables and advise Operations manager/supervisor if targets are not being met.
  • Go in field and observe operation daily. Look for improvement opportunities, visually go look at equipment if abnormal trends are seen.
  • Develop and/or create standard operating procedures for the control room and Operations teams, especially when changing the standard for better process control.
  • Help troubleshoot any process related issues that arise. This could involve trending on HMI and/or going in field to look.
  • Conduct RCA’s on process issues to avoid the same issue happening twice.
  • Take samples as required for calibrations/troubleshooting
  • Constantly looking for improvement opportunities to achieve better quality, recovery or production. Take lead on these projects/initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Prepare and conduct sampling campaigns based on improvement opportunities found or project given. Analysis results and provide recommendations.
  • Attend daily/weekly meetings as required. Lead Metallurgically update meeting
  • Other projects as determined by managers.

  • Strong process analysis skills.

Education & Experience:

  • B.Sc. in Metallurgy, Chemical or Mineral Process Engineering
  • Experience in a technical role in an ore Concentrator environment or equivalent.

License:

  • Driver’s License (Required)
