LOSS PREVENTION SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR FULL TIME (HALIFAX)

Position Overview:
The Asset Protection Specialist Supervisor (APSS) is responsible for preventing financial loss caused by property vandalism, traditional theft and fraud, organized retail crime, and connected retail fraud. They will assist the District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) with internal investigations, AP walks, assist CIT (Central Investigations) with high level organized crime. The APSS must remain focused on both AP & District business objectives as outlined by the DAPM, as well as keeping the store leadership and district team informed of criminal activity within their assigned district.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation and Monitoring
- Responsible for analyzing district shrink performance to identify trends in traditional theft and fraud, Organized Retail Crime, and Connected Fraud.
- Accountable for District apprehension performance.
- Monitor and identify associate behaviors and or operational issues through exception-based reporting and CCTV that may cause shrink or other profit erosion Responsible to execute AP rollouts within district (i.e. Camera Installs, Merchandise protection updates etc.).
- Perform quarterly store walks.
Safety and Compliance
- Responsible for maintaining physical security requirements of stores.
- Support with the identifying and successfully investigating matters of internal dishonest activity.
- Assist Central Investigator to coordinate investigations identified as Organized Retail Crime.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner for police, HR, and others upon request.
- Monitor criminal cases, appear in court and testify as warranted.
Developing Associates
- Support stores and recommend solutions to improve associate engagement.
- Manage Asset Protection Specialist Performance, provide timely feedback and complete quarterly performance discussions.
- Teach and train associates to drive change and execute process improvements.

Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel (including occasional overnights) 10 – 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- May involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise and tools, climbing a ladder.
- Extended periods of standing and walking through out the store locations.
- May involve quickly responding to public address system announcements, including customer services calls, pages, and general information.
- Moving around the store and being able to communicate with and assist associates & customers.
- Operating a computer and other technology.
Working Conditions:
- Working within a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekends.
- Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
- Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
Minimum Education:
- Highschool Diploma and or GED
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- Minimum 1 year Loss/Asset Prevention experience
Minimum Leadership Experience:
- 2 years of customer service experience an asset
Certifications:
- Where applicable, security guard license and/or private investigator license is required.
Other Requirements/Assets:
- Must have access to a vehicle
- May be required to travel to various stores in the (market area)
- Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Working knowledge of CCTV systems an asset
- Experience with SAP an asset
- Previous retail experience an asset
