About the role

Netflix Animation Studios is on a mission to entertain the world with bold, immersive animated films that are timeless and impactful. We are paving the way for the future of animation by building a community of amazing artists and talent across three vibrant locations globally. Come join us!

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about building the software and tools that power world-class animation? Netflix Animation Studios is seeking a Project Manager for Global Technology to drive the planning, execution, and delivery of innovative software and technology solutions across the studio. You will work closely with software engineers, technical directors, CG Supervisors, show production and Program Managers to ensure our technology projects support the creative vision and operational needs of our animated films.

At Netflix, we strive to be both great and always better. You’ll be empowered to set a high bar for yourself and your teams, constantly looking for ways to improve our technology, our workflows, and the way we collaborate. In this role, you will become a trusted partner to production, ensuring technology empowers our creative teams to tell their best stories.

What You’ll Do:

Project Ownership & Execution:

  • Lead and manage software/tool development projects from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with production objectives and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, technical, and creative stakeholders—across multiple locations and time zones.
  • Work closely with Program Managers to ensure project plans, deliverables, and milestones are aligned with the overall technology roadmap and program goals.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, break down complex requirements into actionable steps, and drive execution across teams.
  • Identify and resolve project risks, dependencies, and blockers by working proactively with both local and remote colleagues.
  • Support the roll out of new tools and solutions, ensuring smooth transition from development to deployment in production environments.
  • Build credibility as a trusted partner to production, developing a deep understanding of show needs, proactively surfacing solutions, and serving as a reliable point of contact for production teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in project documentation, requirements gathering, and quality assurance—catching inconsistencies, clarifying ambiguities, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

Strategic Thinking & Collaboration:

  • Prioritize and balance multiple requests by evaluating business needs, technical requirements, and global timelines.
  • Contribute to global workflow and process improvements by sharing learnings and recommending best practices for distributed teams.
  • Work as part of a team of project managers, supporting shared goals, aligning on standards, and collaborating on initiatives.
  • Partner with Program Managers to provide input on program-level strategy, escalate risks, and ensure project activities contribute to broader studio objectives.
  • Encourage and model a growth mindset—welcoming feedback, learning from experience, and embracing change as an opportunity to get even better.

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate project status, priorities, and risks clearly and regularly to stakeholders across locations, both verbally and in writing.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships ensuring voices are heard and represented.
  • Facilitate meetings and drive alignment across time zones, adapting your communication style to suit diverse audiences and remote collaboration.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:

  • Diagnose and unblock project obstacles, collaborating with other project managers and teams as needed.
  • Document and share best practices for project delivery.
  • Mentor and support colleagues, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment across distributed teams.
  • Champion a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, always seeking opportunities to raise standards, and deliver greater impact.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience in Software/Tool Development Projects:

Hands-on experience managing software, pipeline, or tool development projects—ideally in a technology-driven environment. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)

  • Knowledge of Animation Pipelines or Production Experience:

Familiarity with animation pipelines, or direct experience collaborating with production teams in animation, VFX, games, or media technology. You understand the unique workflows and challenges of creative production environments.

  • Global Collaboration:

Demonstrated success working with distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.

  • Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills:

Able to build relationships, facilitate meetings, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders—regardless of location.

  • Attention to Detail:

Consistently delivers thorough, accurate project plans and communications. Spot potential issues before they escalate and ensure all aspects of a project are well-documented and executed to a high standard.

  • Growth Mindset:

Eager to learn, welcomes feedback, and is always looking for ways to improve.

  • Bonus Points:

  • Experience working as part of a team of project managers, contributing to group goals and supporting shared best practices.

  • Understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) in a software development environment.

  • Experience using metrics and analytics to measure project success, identify areas for improvement, and inform decision-making.
