Canada Pump and Power is growing, and we are looking for reliable, mechanically inclined Dredge Operators to support upcoming long-term projects across Canada.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical mindset, a solid work ethic, and the right attitude to learn specialized dredging operations. Previous heavy equipment or excavator experience is a strong asset, but what matters most is your willingness to learn, take direction, work safely, and show up ready to contribute every day.

Schedule 14/14 rotation 12-hour shifts Day and night shifts may be required Rotation may vary or be extended based on project and client requirements

What You’ll Be Doing Safely operate dredging equipment and related support equipment Monitor dredge performance, production, flow, and operating conditions Assist with setup, operation, maintenance, and demobilization of dredging systems Complete pre-use inspections, FLRAs, and required site documentation Communicate with supervisors, pump operators, and other crew members throughout the shift Identify hazards, equipment concerns, or changing site conditions and report them promptly Support basic maintenance, housekeeping, fueling, and operational checks Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety policies and procedures Work as part of a field crew to support pumping, dredging, and water management activities Be willing to learn new equipment, techniques, and site processes What We’re Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliable attendance Ability to take direction, ask questions, and work well with a crew Safety-focused mindset and willingness to follow site procedures Previous heavy equipment operating experience considered an asset Excavator operating experience considered a strong asset Experience working around pumps, water, slurry, tailings, ponds, lagoons, or civil/industrial projects considered an asset Ability to work in remote, industrial, and outdoor environments Ability to complete daily inspections, FLRAs, and field paperwork accurately Strong communication skills Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract preferred Reliable, flexible, and available for project-based work Willing to work long shifts, days or nights, with irregular breaks as required Required Certifications Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) WHMIS Common Safety Orientation (CSO) — link will be provided if required Wildlife Awareness — link will be provided if required Site-specific orientations — links will be provided as required Work Environment Outdoor, hands-on work in active field environments Remote, industrial, municipal, and project-based work sites Wet, noisy, cold, and changing weather conditions Physically demanding work with real-world impact Close collaboration with supervisors, team members, clients, and contractors Pay & Perks Competitive wage based on experience Project-based employment with long-term opportunities Company-specific dredge and equipment training provided Opportunity to build specialized skills in pumping, dredging, barging, and marine construction Opportunity to grow within the company Benefits After 90 days of continuous employment: Dental care Extended health care Company-paid Child Sponsorship through Plan International After 6 months: RRSP matching After 1 year of continuous employment: Profit-sharing opportunities 5 wellness days Let’s Get Things Moving!
