About the role
Convergint is recruiting for a Field Project Manager to join our growing Toronto team. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of large-scale capital projects in a Public-Private Partnership (P3) environment by leading field execution, coordinating multi-system integration, and supporting design validation. This role bridges design and construction, ensuring integrated systems are developed, installed, and commissioned to meet technical specifications, stakeholder expectations, and operational needs.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

Project & Field Leadership

Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring timely delivery of field execution activities.

Lead daily site coordination meetings, resolve field conflicts, and ensure subcontractor and trade alignment.

Oversee material deliveries, logistics, and on-site resource planning.

Enforce compliance with safety regulations and Convergint health & safety policies.

Design Development & Stakeholder Collaboration
-
Engage with end users, consultants, and contractors to translate operational needs into integrated technical design requirements.

Participate in design development sessions, validating constructability and integration strategies.
-
Coordinate interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of security, IT, AV, nurse call, RTLS, and BAS systems.

Construction Document Development
-
Contribute to device layouts, integration diagrams, schedules, and installation details.
-
Maintain version control and traceability of design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Support shop drawing and submittal reviews for technical and contractual compliance.

Integration Planning & Compliance
-
Define and manage integration points across multiple systems, ensuring interoperability.

Coordinate FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities, including test scripts and acceptance criteria.

Identify and resolve deviations, gaps, or risks in system design and implementation.

Testing, Documentation & Reporting
-
Establish lab/test environments to validate firmware, devices, and system integrations before deployment.

Document integration maps, interface schedules, and testing outcomes for QA and audit purposes.

Prepare daily and weekly reports on progress, risks, and quality compliance.

Operational Readiness & Handover
-
Support client demonstrations, training sessions, and system handover packages.
-
Develop SOPs, maintenance handbooks, and transition-to-operations plans.

Ensure systems are delivered in a state that supports long-term operation and maintainability.

Professional & Organizational Responsibilities

Executes all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.

Always acts as “our customer’s best service provider” thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.

Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.

Keeps up to date and informed on all company policies.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
What You’ll Need
- Strong knowledge of integrated building systems, including security, IT infrastructure, RTLS, nurse call, and BAS.
- Ability to interpret and develop technical drawings, schematics, and construction documents.
- Skilled in stakeholder communication, technical facilitation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Familiarity with project output specifications, performance-based design, and compliance tracking.
- Competence in managing third-party vendors for specialized services (e.g., wireless surveys, penetration testing).
- Strong documentation and reporting skills using standard tools (Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Wrike, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Detail-oriented approach to quality assurance, interface management, and commissioning.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems integration, project delivery, or design coordination within large-scale infrastructure projects.
- 5+ years of technical field experience in a construction environment.
- Hands-on involvement in testing and commissioning of integrated systems.
- Experience working in a P3 or highly regulated environment (healthcare, transportation, education, government) is preferred.
- Previous coordination with general contractors, consultants, and trades.
- Experience managing or liaising with external service providers.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Relevant trade certification and experience preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes and methods.
- Knowledge of scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
