Salary and Benefits: According to the provincial salary grid (www.stf.sk.ca), 13% consultant allowance, plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a Northern living allowance. Moving assistance may also be available.
Qualifications:
- Saskatchewan Professional A Teacher's Certificate (or confirmation of eligibility)
- Knowledge and experience applying best practices in the areas of instruction, curriculum, environment and assessment
- Knowledge of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit languages, histories, and cultures
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team as well as independently
- Strong instructional leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
The Preferred Candidate will have:
- Middle years and high school teaching experience using outcomes-based assessment,
- Experience supporting student transitions into high school and beyond, supporting STEAM, PAA, My Blueprint, Career Development, Our SCHOOL Survey
- Ability to build relationships, engage stakeholders and improve student engagement and achievement,
- A commitment to improving grad rates, commitment to using the OurSCHOOL data for school improvement, knowledge of transition planning and career pathways,
- Current knowledge of high school curricula, credit system and grad requirements,
- Ability to model and support high quality planning and instruction practices in grades seven to twelve.
- Familiarity and experience with Northern issues
- Dedication to reconciliation in NLSD, and
- Strong commitment to the schools plus/community schools and safe schools concept
