Position: Assistant Superintendent

The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting the Site Superintendent in the day-to-day coordination, supervision, and administration of assigned construction projects. You will help ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, schedules, budgets, company policies, and applicable regulations.
We are looking for someone who will work closely with site personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and the project team to assist in maintaining productivity, quality standards, and a safe work environment.
This position serves as a development role with increasing responsibility and may occasionally perform hands-on construction activities when required.
Some of the Assistant Site Superintendent responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist the Site Superintendent with daily on-site construction operations. Monitor the productivity and performance of workers and subcontractors to help ensure schedules and project milestones are achieved. Communicate site progress, issues, and updates to the Site Superintendent and other project team members. Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination of subcontractor activities. Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, building codes, and quality standards. Perform regular site walkthroughs to identify deficiencies and quality concerns. Support and enforce ASCO's Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies and Procedures. Report all injuries, incidents, hazards, and near misses to the Site Superintendent immediately.
The preferred candidate will have
Minimum two (2) to five (5) years of experience in construction as a foreman, lead hand, carpenter, assistant superintendent, or related supervisory role within ICI and/or water and wastewater construction projects. Journeyman or demonstrated equivalent trade experience background is preferred. Working knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, safety requirements, and quality control processes. Demonstrated ability to coordinate workers and subcontractors in a construction environment. Preferred: Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Building Sciences, or related field. Valid Ontario Driver’s License and a good driving record.
