The Role: Manager, Accounting In this role, you will spend most of your time leading accounting teams, overseeing financial reporting, managing budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing operational and financial performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function. You will work closely with finance leadership, department managers, and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and effective decision-making. Key Responsibilities Include: Managing, mentoring, and developing Canadian and U.S. Accounting Teams Overseeing the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements Leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Analyzing financial and operational performance across business units Collaborating with departmental leaders on financial results, cost management, and business initiatives Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability Maintaining documentation for financial processes, procedures, and policies Monitoring regulatory and legislative changes to ensure compliance Acting as the Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) on organizational projects Supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as required Liaising with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory bodies
What You'll Bring CPA designation University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience Minimum 5 years of experience leading, mentoring, and developing accounting teams Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced accounting environment Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite Experience supporting day-to-day accounting operations and administrative functions Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to communicate financial information effectively to leaders and non-financial stakeholders Bilingual Spanish and English language skills are required Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities
