Marketing Manager, Canadian Television

We’re looking for a fandom-fueled marketer to lead the charge for Blue Ant Media’s seven passion-based Canadian TV brands, including T+E, Cottage Life, BBC Earth and Makeful. Reporting to the VP Marketing, Canadian Media, this role is for someone who knows that great marketing is not just about promoting “shows” — it’s about finding and fostering fans, building communities around the stories and subjects people love, and turning casual viewers into engaged audiences.

As the strategic marketing lead for our Canadian linear TV brands, you will bridge big-picture brand strategy with hands-on execution to drive awareness, tune-in and engagement across owned, social, partner and other consumer-facing touchpoints. You will also support Canadian-relevant FAST channel opportunities in partnership with our Global Channels team, ensuring we make the most of any opportunities that arise.

This role will report to the VP, Marketing, Canadian Media and is a hybrid position requiring in-office attendance at our head office in Toronto for a minimum of three (3) days per week.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, with final compensation determined by experience and qualifications.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Create "Must-See" Moments: Brief and collaborate with the Creative team to build campaigns for priority shows that maximize our assets and drive ratings.
  • Build Fandom: Design and implement a sustainable social strategy that builds brand awareness and moves the needle on audience engagement.
  • Maximize Key Distributor Opportunities: Support BDU relationships around high-impact moments such as Free Preview windows, major premieres and programming stunts, providing clear priorities, approved assets and timely toolkits.
  • Measure What Matters: Track campaign performance across social, partner support, Free Preview activity and audience engagement, using viewership data to sharpen future priorities.
  • Nurture Brand Partnerships: Manage "in-kind" relationships with like-minded brands and create innovative activations that bring our brands to life at our relevant Consumer Shows.
  • Champion Content Partnerships: Serve as the marketing lead for key content partners such as BBC and Blue Ant Studios. Look for cross-promotional opportunities (e.g. amplification through their social, newsletters, talent, etc.) and secure proprietary promotional assets to use on our platforms.
  • Oversee the Experience: Maintain and audit brand websites (via WordPress) to ensure they are the "single source of truth" for fans looking for basic info and air dates.

What You Bring to the Table

  • The Strategic Brief-Writer: You can write clear, actionable briefs that inspire creative teams and align with business KPIs.
  • The Content Pro: You have experience in content marketing - ideally in television or media - and you understand the nuance of creating scroll-stopping social moments.
  • The Platform Expert: You are comfortable navigating project management tools (we use Wrike), are savvy with Meta Business Suite and know your way around WordPress.
  • The Relationship Builder: You are a natural at liaising with international partners (like the BBC and Smithsonian) and domestic distributors alike.

Why You’ll Love It

This is a rare opportunity to shape how Canadians can discover a unique portfolio of interest-based TV brands. You’ll work with a fun, collaborative team while having the autonomy to bring bold ideas to life — from social-first campaigns and brand partnerships to fan experiences, Free Preview moments and priority programming launches.

If you love great storytelling, understand what makes audiences care, and know how to balance big-picture brand thinking with hands-on execution, this is your chance to turn passion-based content into meaningful audience connection — and have a lot of fun along the way.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in entertainment, media, broadcast, streaming, content marketing, partner marketing, social media, or brand marketing.
  • Experience promoting TV, streaming, film, lifestyle, factual, entertainment, or pop-culture content.
  • Strong campaign planning and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple brands/channels at once.
  • Experience working with external partners, platforms, distributors, agencies, content suppliers, or brand partners.
  • Strong writing skills for campaign briefs, social copy, partner pitches, presentations, and promotional toolkits.
  • Working knowledge of social platforms, content calendars, campaign reporting, and digital/social best practices.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with programming, scheduling, creative, sales, distribution, PR, and external partners.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the Canadian broadcast, specialty TV, streaming, FAST, or BDU landscape.
  • Experience with free previews, affiliate marketing, distributor marketing, or platform merchandising.
  • Experience with entertainment brands, lifestyle/factual programming, British content, documentary, nature, paranormal, home/design, or similar genres.
  • Basic design sensibility and comfort giving feedback to creative teams on promos, social assets, style guides and partner toolkits.
