We are seeking an ML Ops Engineering expert to design, build, and operationalize scalable machine learning platforms and deployment frameworks that power AI initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management, while also enabling secure and compliant hosting environments for AI-powered applications and services.
The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in ML systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, and production deployment practices. In addition to operationalizing ML pipelines, this role will support Data Science teams in deploying model-driven applications—including web-based frontends—within the Walmart technology ecosystem. This includes environment setup, containerization, infrastructure configuration, and navigating required security and governance processes such as SSP documentation and InfoSec reviews.
Working closely with Data Science, Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams, this individual will ensure that ML solutions and associated applications are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise standards. The role plays a critical part in advancing ML operational maturity by strengthening automation, observability, infrastructure best practices, and secure deployment patterns across the organization.
This role involves identifying suitable data sources, performing initial quality checks, and supporting the prioritization of requirements. The role may also conduct exploratory data analysis, design experiments, test hypotheses, and finalize experiment dimensions. Selecting appropriate analytical modeling techniques for structured, complex data and developing custom analytical models is a key responsibility.
Assessment and validation of models by applying best practices for testing and tuning are essential to ensure accuracy, fit, validity, and robustness. This role tests developed software, translates business requirements into projects and tasks, and aligns activities with the overall business strategy. Acting as a conduit between business needs and tangible solutions, this role connects stakeholders with results.
Qualifications:
- ML model deployment and lifecycle management, including monitoring, observability, and performance management
- Cloud infrastructure setup and application hosting (e.g., GCP, Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipelines for ML and application workflows
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
