About the Role:

As the Manufacturing Engineer in our Pikeville, TN plant, you will plan and design manufacturing

processes, maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and

work force utilization. Determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals

according to product specifications. This position will have responsibilities in the manufacturing side

of new product development, work closely with design engineering, and will maintain Routers in the

ERP software to ensure accuracy. Must be familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices,

and procedures, lean manufacturing experience is helpful.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, evaluate, improve and document manufacturing processes.

  • Developing and implementing processes for quality control that are ingrained in the

manufacture of the products and allow for management by exception.

  • Auditing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of safety, quality,

delivery and cost reduction.

  • Collaborating with management and design engineering regarding product tooling and

design to ensure effective production methods can be achieved.

  • Estimate staffing requirements, production times, capital spending requirements and relative

costs to provide data for operational decisions.

  • Working closely with the manufacturing team to develop, coordinate, and implement

technical training for employees.

  • Designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes,

new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and

low product cost.

  • Having ownership of Routers in the Production ERP software while working with design

engineering and production to maintain accuracy.

  • Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop

orders, and concepts as part of the quality control function.

  • Provide engineering support for production to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.

  • Assist in developing a comprehensive documented quality program.

  • Coordinate work with Engineering and Maintenance Technician(s) to ensure efficiency on the

factory floor.

  • Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, Environmental, Health, and

Safety regulations, and good manufacturing practices.

What You’ll Bring:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or the equivalent in experience.

  • Engineering experience in manufacturing related field including quality control.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Willingness to work adjusted schedules as needed to support production.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.

  • Experience with CAD software, 3D modeling experience preferred.

  • Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in written form.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.

  • Ability to work with and lead teams in resolving issues and developing standard processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Ability to move about between offices and attend meetings which may include ascending or

descending stairs.

  • Occasional lifting and carrying of materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone using the

English language.

  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment such as a computer

keyboard, mouse, telephone, copier, and printer with precision and efficiency.
