Senior Case Aide (HELP Program) - Cortland County DSS
This is a technical and paraprofessional position in the Department of Social Services or Health Department. The specific duties of an incumbent will vary according to the assigned program area and can include responsibility for determining financial and categorical eligibility for programs as well as providing assistance to the casework staff. The class differs from Case Aide by virtue of the level of responsibility with the eligibility process and the increased level of independent judgment. Supervision of this position is general and the responsibility of a higher level administrator or supervisor. Does related work as required.
Work Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week with benefits
Salary: $20.7185-26.2244/HR (CSEA Union)
Location: Cortland County Department of Social Services
Status: Non-Competitive, Probationary
Benefits: New York State Retirement System, Low Deductible Health Insurance Plan, Generous Paid Time Off including 13 Paid Holidays, Tuition Assistance available, Position is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either
Possession of an Associate's Degree or higher (or completion of 60 semester credit hours); OR Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency diploma and one (1) year of full time experience or its part-time equivalent working with the public; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience as described in (a) and (b) above.
NOTE
Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the Internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm. You must pay the required evaluation fee.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license or privilege to drive a motor vehicle in New York State appropriate to the vehicles operated. Failure to maintain a NYS driver’s license including driving privileges throughout employment will result in disciplinary action or dismissal.
Pre-employment screenings required.
