Position Summary We’re looking for a full-time Financial Accountant to handle all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of corporate and real estate entities. Reporting to senior leadership and working closely with the CFO, this individual will be responsible for monthly reporting, compliance activities, financial analysis, and more. The role requires a detail-oriented, discreet, and technically proficient accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting processes for multiple operating and real estate businesses
- Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and performance summaries for executive review
- Track and report on accounts payable and receivable across entities
- Process banking transactions, transfers, and credit card reconciliations
- Oversee government remittances and corporate tax filings
- Assist with year-end reporting and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Support cash flow planning and provide timely insights on liquidity and working capital
- Monitor outstanding receivables and provide updates on collection progress
- Assist in mortgage financing processes and draw requests
- Collaborate with the CFO on reconciliations, tech implementation, and special finance projects
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, in a multi-entity real estate environment
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
- Organized and dependable with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with professionalism
- Comfortable working independently and interacting with senior decision-makers
- Proficient with accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel
