Job Summary
We are seeking a Finance Manager – Financial Reporting & Controls to join a dynamic finance team responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and driving continuous process improvements. This role plays a critical part in supporting the financial close process while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insights, ensure compliance, and contribute to finance transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, a passion for process optimization, and the ability to leverage technology and automation to improve financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the transformation and optimization of financial close and reporting processes through standardization and continuous improvement initiatives. Execute and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting. Collaborate with business partners to understand operational activities and their financial impact. Review, analyze, and interpret financial results while identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other month-end accounting transactions. Support the management of financial risks, provisions, accruals, and accounting estimates. Assist with internal and external financial reporting requirements. Maintain a strong internal control environment and support internal and external audit activities. Provide accounting guidance on new business initiatives, transactions, accounting standards, and financial processes while ensuring compliance and governance. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with technology and finance teams to improve financial systems, reporting tools, and data quality. Leverage automation, AI, and digital solutions to enhance financial reporting and operational effectiveness. Prepare accounting documentation, technical accounting memos, journal entries, account reconciliations, and SOX control documentation. Analyze and present financial information that supports strategic business decisions. Participate in finance transformation initiatives and other special projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field. CPA designation or progress toward CPA is considered an asset. 2–3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a similar finance role. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP BI, SAP FI, or similar ERP/accounting systems is considered an asset. Experience with AI, automation, or finance transformation initiatives is an asset.
