I nspire and support student success in a dynamic classroom environment. Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Part-Time Temporary Elementary Teacher for a work assignment at Sturgeon Heights School.
Sturgeon Heights School is located within the city of St. Albert boundary and is a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school with approximately 460 students. Sturgeon Heights School encourages students to be critical thinkers, engaged in their own learning environment, and creative with their problem-solving.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences for students in Grade 3
- Contribute to school initiatives and the broader school community
- Demonstrate experience and/or specialization in an elementary school setting
- Apply foundational knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspectives to support inclusive learning and advance the Division’s commitments to Truth and Reconciliation
- Bring experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including the use of specialized accommodations and instructional strategies
- Utilize proactive support strategies such as visual and sensory supports, positive behaviour interventions, and effective communication strategies
- Have experience implementing and supporting Individual Program Plans (IPPs)
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Show experience and/or interest in integrating technology tools to enhance student learning
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children
What You Bring
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Experience teaching elementary-level students
- Classroom management that fosters a safe and caring environment
- Strong skills in using educational technology to support learning
- Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
