Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. (VanPile), a proud member of the Carlson Construction Group, is seeking an experienced Safety Lead to support our major Prince Rupert project site. This role is ideal for a seasoned safety professional who thrives in fast‑paced field environments and wants to contribute to a high‑impact marine and heavy civil project.
This is a fly‑in, fly‑out role with a rotating schedule of two weeks on-site and one week off-site. The position is a full‑time, 8‑month contract, and VanPile provides full accommodation and covers all travel expenses.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and incident statistics
- Review site safety documents and provide constructive feedback
- Support planning for new work activities; conduct engaging worker orientations
- Lead toolbox meetings and safety training sessions
- Monitor safety compliance among staff and subcontractors
- Conduct hazard assessments, inspections, and incident investigations
- Keep management informed of safety risks and operational impacts
- Promote and uphold safe work practices across the project site
Qualifications / Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of field safety experience, ideally in industrial or heavy civil construction
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safety behaviors
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and results‑driven
- Willingness to work rotational shifts and travel outside the Lower Mainland
✨ Skills / Attributes That Set You Apart
- Professional safety designation (CRSP, RCSO, CHSC, CSS, CIH, ROH) preferred
- Occupational First Aid Level 3 certification or willingness to obtain
- Experience with BCCSA COR programs and auditing
- High professional and ethical standards
- Proactive attitude with sound judgment
- Strong relationship‑building, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent prioritization and time‑management abilities
- Eagerness to grow and develop in the safety field
