Job Summary:
We are looking to hire a Floral Manager to join our team. The focus of this role is the day-to-day operations related to floral design, managing and training the staff, scheduling, corresponding with vendors and wholesale partners, and creating a vibrant culture and a healthy team setting within the department, while ensuring that orders for floral arrangements are completed on time.
The ideal candidate will have leadership skills, time management skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, knowledge of floral design and what the industry is doing/serving, and a motivation to keep responsible areas clean and presentable.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Advise customers on suitable floral arrangement selections, wrap completed floral arrangements, build gift baskets, unpack and organize deliveries
- Consult with clients to determine their preferences and specifications before designing customized floral arrangements for events
- Inform customers of department offerings, upsells, prepares special orders for events
- Plan and merchandise product display cases and develop seasonal decor
- Collaborate with vendor for inventory management; submit and track product orders
- Build and maintain positive vendor relationships; place regular product orders, identify discounts and promotions, and recommend items for our flyer
- Ensure the store is clean, safe and ready for shoppers
- Manage and increase department profitability and sales through effective budgeting, merchandising, controlling expenses and driving sales
- Backroom and inventory management
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with staff and customers
- A proven team player and who is also team-focused
- Strong problem solving and in-the-moment decision-making skills, process improvement, strategic planning, verbal communication, customer focus, management proficiency
- Skilled at prioritizing tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Able to function well in a high-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a post-secondary program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management
- A minimum of 2 years demonstrating the sound knowledge of different flower types, arrangement styles, and flower conditioning
- Experience operating a point-of-sale system
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Able to be in contact with common plant allergens such as pollen
