The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has an opportunity for two (2) highly organized and competent individuals to provide assistance with the review and maintenance of the Records Management System for RMS Support Unit (RMSSU) within the EPS.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Review the Records Management System (RMS) data to ensure that records entered are accurate and consistent with established standards.
  • Correct data errors within the RMS by merging and unmerging records by performing name corrections and completing legal name changes.
  • Communicate with policing partners (Canadian Border Services Agency and Alberta Vital Statistics) when issues appear between each agency’s respective database.
  • Assist other areas within EPS by locating and proper linking of primary records to ensure accuracy
  • Review compliance reports to identify any errors; errors are then communicated to the member responsible for entry in order to educate on proper procedures.
  • Review documents and create/link entities within the RMS as required
  • Assisting the Information Auditor II and Team Leads with training in relation to proper use of the RMS. Training can include classroom teaching or walking members through written step-by-step instructions and/or visual components.
  • Assisting in complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of any changes made to the RMS to ensure proper functionality as it relates to the position.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of the twelfth (12) grade is required.
  • Completion of a certificate or diploma from an approved post-secondary school in the area of Business Administration, Police Studies, Records Management would be an asset.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of office related experience in regard to entering, reviewing, or modifying information within a records management system.
  • Experience with the Niche RMS software is an asset.
  • Strong proven analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience in assisting with training sessions.
  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Ability to solve problems and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure all tasks are completed per work plan.
  • Able to work independently, to exercise sound judgment, and to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills are required with a focus on providing customer service.
  • Applicants may be tested.

Hours of Work:
Variable 10-hour shifts between 0600 to 2100, 7 days a week.

Salary Range: 21B, Salary Grade: 007, $24.44- $30.34 (Hourly), $1,953.00 - $2,427.70 (Bi-Weekly), $51,032.81- $63,362.45 (Annually).
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
