Junior Data and Evaluations Analyst
(12 Months Contract)
JIAS Toronto is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to helping immigrants with resettlement in the Greater Toronto Area. JIAS Toronto assists lawfully admitted immigrants and refugees in meeting basic financial, social, legal, and other requirements of immigration. We work to advance the well-being and social integration of newcomers by providing a full range of outreach, support, counseling, training, and referral resources.
We are currently looking for a Junior Data and Evaluations Analyst to join our team. As a part of the Research, Data and Evaluations team, you will play a central role in supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and projects across JIAS Toronto. The Analyst will ensure that data collection, analysis, and reporting activities are carried out effectively to inform decision-making, meet funder requirements, and communicate impact to diverse stakeholders.
This role involves survey, focus group, and interview design and deployment, liaising with translators and clients, analyzing and summarizing results, and preparing timely presentations for staff, board members, funders, and external audiences. The Analyst will also contribute to the development of an organization-wide evaluation framework and database reporting systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Collection
- Support with drafting, testing, and refining surveys and interview and focus group guides.
- Deploy surveys and collect responses through multiple methods (online, phone, in person).
- Liaise with translators to ensure accessibility of evaluation tools.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and outcomes.
- Draft concise summaries of findings for different audiences.
- Prepare timely reports and presentations for staff, board, funders, and conferences.
- Run Salesforce reports to support grant reporting, staff needs, and inquiries.
Project Support
- Support both internal and external program evaluation projects through survey design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist with the development of an organization-wide evaluation framework, including notetaking, contributing to brainstorming sessions, and supporting evaluation tool development.
Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement
- Research best practices in program evaluation and data collection across the settlement sector.
- Contribute to building organizational capacity for evidence-based decision-making.
Other duties as assigned or required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary degree in Statistics, Program Evaluation, Social Sciences, Research Methods, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a data-related field is an asset.
- 1–3 years of experience in program evaluation, survey design, and quantitative/qualitative data collection and analysis (non-profit or settlement sector experience an asset).
- Strong skills in analyzing and presenting data for varied audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and independently when required.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages will be considered an asset: Hebrew, Russian, Tigrinya, Farsi, Arabic.
