POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate, Growth and Transition Capital, provides analytical, statistical and account administration support to the transaction team, extracting various financial data and preparing a wide range of documents related to operational and financial activities in the field of information technology, and other sectors of activity.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Contribute to the growth of BDC's Growth and Transition Capital group by conducting detailed financial analyses and modelling of historical and projected financial results.
- Conduct market research within technology companies or other industries, compare analytics, compile data, and perform various market value analyses and financial forecasts.
- Assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis) associated with a particular client or industry to assess inherent or potential risks.
- Receive, review and evaluate service offerings to determine their viability, conduct due diligence and, if applicable, develop a growth or business transfer capital offer, in accordance with BDC standards and procedures.
- Ensure close and continuous monitoring of Growth capital and business transfer accounts and their sound management.
- Ensure that all client needs are met by identifying opportunities for BDC's Financing and Consulting groups and keeping abreast of the network's capabilities and expertise.
- Contribute to the development of BDC's Growth and Transfer Capital portfolio by managing transactions, contracts and negotiations related to the group's activities.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, economics or finance, or equivalent. A master's degree is a major asset
- At least 3 years of experience in the financial services sector. Knowledge of the technology industry is an asset.
- Professional designation (CPA-CA, CPA-CMA, CPA-CGA, CFA or CBV/EEE), an asset
- Knowledge of mezzanine financing or the private equity market, an asset
- Excellent ability to analyze and interpret financial statements
- Knowledge of financial reporting requirements and general business activities.
- Strong writing skills and ability to defend, summarize and illustrate analysis in a presentation format, adapting to the audience
- Ability to handle ambiguous situations and quickly grasp new concepts
- Good judgment with respect to funding methods, application processing and maintaining client relationships
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Good communication and presentation skills with good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team
- Bilingualism both orally and in writing is an asset (French and English)
