This role is critical to ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time by coordinating inventory, manufacturing, and outsourced production activities.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Coordinator is responsible for reviewing customer orders and determining the most effective path to fulfillment. This includes evaluating inventory availability, creating manufacturing job orders, and managing outsourced production when necessary.
The ideal candidate understands manufacturing workflows, inventory management, production scheduling, and supply chain coordination. They are comfortable working with both standard repeat products and newly developed custom items.
KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Order Review & Fulfillment
- Review incoming customer orders and determine the appropriate production planning path
- Verify availability inventory and determine determine fulfillment quantity gaps
- Release available orders for packing and shipment when inventory is sufficient
- Coordinate manufacturing activities when inventory is unavailable or insufficient
- Production Planning & Job Order Management
- Create manufacturing job orders and production routing steps for items requiring production
- Coordinate internal manufacturing operations for plastic and metal components
- Issue purchase orders to Bond, AWP’s sister company, for required wood components
- Coordinate painting operations with external paint vendors
- Monitor production timelines and prioritize work to meet customer delivery dates
- Capacity Planning & Outsourcing
- Evaluate production capacity, order size, manufacturing lead times, and delivery deadlines
- Determine whether production can complete orders internally within required timelines
- Coordinate outsourced manufacturing when internal capacity or timing constraints require it
- Work with external component manufacturers and vendors to source complete items or individual components as needed
- New Product Setup
- For products that have never been manufactured before:

Create new item numbers and Bill of Materials (BOMs)

Define manufacturing processes and job routing steps, coordinating internal and external manufacturing resources as required

Create and release production job orders

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in manufacturing, production planning, inventory control, supply chain, or operations coordination

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows
-
Experience with BOMs, job orders, routings, and inventory systems

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
-
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
-
Excellent organizational and communication abilities
-
ERP/MRP system familiarity or experience
-
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Strong ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Experience (what will set you apart):

Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.

Manufacturing scheduling or production planning

Purchasing and vendor coordination

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Monday – Friday, flexible start time (8.5hr shift)
