Job Overview Continuous Improvement Manager ( IL6S Manager) Responsible for overseeing the implementation of Integrated Lean 6 Sigma (IL6S) within the organization, working with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, developing plans for change, establishing training curriculum to increase employee competency in IL6S and CI tools, and monitoring progress toward goals by setting KPIs to drive change. This position will be responsible for training, coaching, and assessing the “Model Factory” as well as future expansions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Assess personnel, develop training content, coach/mentor employees on Lean concepts within the organization, and create the proper documentation for the introduced program.
- Leads the IL6S program for the site(s) and ensures maintenance of the capabilities and improvement as new end-to-end capabilities are defined. Complete assessments of all Give & Go sites, addressing areas of improvement.
- Instrumental in achieving the plant conversion productivity target and identifying opportunities to close potential gaps. Governs the productivity process in the plant.
- Owns and governs the site wide Loss analysis and Loss elimination program to achieve business targets.
- Supports all pillars to achieve IL6S’ Zero Loss Journey (ZLJ) target
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for equipment performance, GE (Global Efficiency), and cost reduction.
- Develop Training, coaching and assessment plans, schedules, and budgets for projects to improve existing processes.
- Is responsible for site’s progress on IL6S phases and provides coaching to the sister sites IL6S team.
- Works with the Continuous Improvement (CI) Leaders and the core team to build capability and drive loss understanding and loss eradication.
- Initiates and supports training and induction programs in the plants by using existing tools from the IL6S toolbox. Conducts various trainings on IL6S topics.
- Coaches, mentors and supports the CI leaders.
- Bridge the gap between technical and operational teams, executing a range of CI solutions that move operations beyond current state to the next level of efficiency.
- Train and coach plant personnel on TPM principles, continuous improvement tools, and problem-solving techniques.
- Review company’s business for enhancing effectiveness and benchmark with Industry Best Practice.
- Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies aligned with business goals, using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Develops an IL6S roadmap / master plan and Hoshin Kanri annually linked to the site CBN and provides assistance for the execution.
- Drive standardization and best practice sharing across departments and sites.
- Monitor and report progress of CI and TPM initiatives to senior leadership, highlighting ROI and performance improvements. Lead loss analysis and focused improvement projects to address chronic downtime and performance issues
Recipe For Success
- Completion of university degree in a related field
- Minimum 10 years in a Continuous Improvement Leadership Role Completion of P.Eng
- Six Sigma Certification
- Proven capability of leading a transformation effort, including change management, ensuring stakeholder engagement and robust communication.
- The ability to coach, inspire and work with cross functional managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Ability to influence all levels of the organization and make strategic decisions as required.
- The ability to work in the context of a corporate wide lean standardization program but also provide best practices that may be able to help other sites
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build cross-functional relationships.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate, and retain well-qualified individuals of diverse talents, interests, and cultural backgrounds. Must have the leadership presence to energize, drive and lead the teams, and to be able to influence with integrity at all levels of the organization and enable results through others.
