SUMMARY:

Reports to the Director, Inclusive Learning and works under the direction of the District Counsellor, and the District Coordinator. Participates as a member of a team to provide support to students with social, emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent. Required to have completed a Child and Youth Care Diploma, or Associate Degree, or a Community Social Service Worker Diploma. Post-Secondary Bachelor degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervised recent and relevent work related experience with children and youth is required. Proven ability working with at-risk school-aged children and youth as well as experience running groups with children and youth.
  • Ability to work independently without supervison.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License. Safe driving record; required to transport students in personal vehicle. Ability to work cooperatively with family, community and school personnel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Ablity to follow school and community protocols. Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of WCB and WHIMIS regulations. Safe work practices.
  • The successful applicant will be assigned to various schools throughout the District by Inclusive Learning (i.e. Ladner, North Delta, Tsawwassen).
