The Senior Specialist, Client & Marketing Analytics, transforms marketing, client engagement, and digital interaction data into strategic insight that supports business development, client relationships, and firm growth. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Intelligence, this role ensures that client communications are data-driven, compliant, and strategically targeted. The successful candidate will move beyond reporting metrics to provide clear recommendations that influence marketing decisions, campaign strategy, and client outreach. This role also plays a key part in strengthening the firm’s use of CRM as the authoritative source of client communication data.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead analytics across firm website performance, social media channels, email marketing campaigns through CRM and Microsoft Legal 360, external content distribution platforms and other channels
  • Analyze marketing and engagement data to identify patterns in audience behaviour, content performance, and campaign effectiveness, and translate these findings into actionable recommendations
  • Develop executive dashboards and insight reports that help marketing, business development teams and firm leadership evaluate marketing effectiveness and guide decision-making
  • Identify trends in content consumption and recommend improvements in targeting, format, and distribution
  • Partner with Marketing and Business Development teams to design measurable campaigns, define success metrics, and evaluate campaign performance to continuously improve targeting, content strategy, and distribution
  • Design and analyze campaign experiments (A/B testing of subject lines, content formats, and distribution strategies) to continuously improve marketing effectiveness
  • Develop segmentation strategies within CRM to ensure precise, permission-based targeting
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend adjustments to improve engagement and conversion
  • Conduct post-campaign analysis that clearly outlines outcomes, lessons learned, and recommended next steps
  • Analyze CRM and engagement data to identify highly engaged clients, disengaged or dormant contacts, emerging interest areas by industry or topic and cross-selling opportunities
  • Develop engagement scoring and lead identification frameworks to support Business Development
  • Flag warm prospects based on digital behavior and interaction patterns
  • Support account planning and focused outreach strategies with data-driven insight
  • Use client and matter data to highlight growth opportunities and support targeted marketing and communication initiatives
  • Champion CRM as the firm’s authoritative source for client and prospect communication data
  • Ensure email marketing lists are properly segmented, permission-based, and aligned with consent records
  • Monitor and improve email deliverability performance
  • Support compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) by identifying contacts without appropriate consent, recommending clean up and re-permission strategies and developing reporting that tracks consent status and compliance risk
  • Promote ongoing data hygiene standards and list quality improvements

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

This position requires a university or college degree in Business Management, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline, plus a minimum of three to five years of experience in a professional service or B2B environment with significant exposure to marketing operations, lead management, and digital analytics. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Legal industry experience and familiarity with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) are strong assets.

The successful candidate must have hands-on experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365), SQL, WordPress or other CMS, and Google Analytics and Looker Studio. Proficiency in Power BI for designing integrated dashboards and experience with advanced analytics for predictive modeling (e.g., churn or lead scoring) are highly preferred. Experience with Python or R and Excel Modelling. Experience integrating and analyzing data from multiple sources including CRM platforms, website analytics, email marketing systems, and social media platforms.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques and tools
  • Ability to translate complex analytics into clear insights and actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong data storytelling skills and experience presenting insights to senior business leaders
  • Naturally curious and analytical, with a strong interest in uncovering patterns in data and using evidence to challenge assumptions and improve marketing outcomes
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite skills, in particular MS Project, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with business stakeholders to achieve goals.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and establish new processes while streamlining existing ones
  • Strong project management, time management and cross-functional coordination skills

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Compensation:

The range of expected compensation for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
