About the role
Join our dynamic accounting team as a Bilingual Accounts Receivable Analyst! In this role, you’ll perform monthly accounts receivable, cash and bank reconciliations, analyze and resolve variances, and month-end procedures. You will also provide guidance to clinics, contribute to audits and support special projects.
This role is located at our Home Office in Calgary, Alberta, which follows a hybrid work model.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Preparing monthly outstanding accounts receivable and cash reconciliation reports for clinics
- Collaborating with clinics to resolve outstanding issues, providing guidance and assistance with questions related to location financial statements
- Booking monthly revenue and cash journal entries accurately and timely
- Investigating and resolving variances between the point of sale and financial system
- Performing bank reconciliations for approximately 30 bank accounts and proactively following up on outstanding items
- Processing patient refunds efficiently and accurately to ensure a positive patient experience
- Performing a variety of month-end procedures, including preparing or approving manual journal entries and preparing working papers
- Analyzing and reconciling variances between the general ledger, sub-ledgers and systems
- Supporting the Accounting team by enhancing internal reporting, driving process improvements, and ensuring effective internal controls, while providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to clinic teams
- Assisting with audits, special projects, and ad hoc projects as required
As The Successful Candidate You Have:
- Bilingualism (French/English) is required to communicate daily with team members across Canada
- 1-3 years experience in accounts receivable and back reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel functions and data manipulation
- Strong problem-solving skills, expertise in reconciliations, and excellent communication abilities to provide clear explanations, guidance, and next steps to clinics, effectively addressing complex issues
- Experience working in a high-volume environment with an understanding of accounting concepts
- Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail; organized, adaptable, and results-driven
- Post-secondary Accounting related diploma/certificate is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of ERP Systems (NetSuite would be considered an asset)
- Experience in the optical, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, or service industries is considered an asset
