We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Property Management team. The position of Security Guard responsible for maintaining the security of Yukon Government assets in assigned Highways & Public Works owned facilities as per government security procedures.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

Diploma or certificate in a recognized security procedures program or related discipline;

Experience following security procedures;
-
Experience troubleshooting and operating but not limited to a variety of security systems (i.e. Security panels, door contacts etc).

Experience with emergency procedures (e.g., evacuation, administering first aid);
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
Desired knowledge, skills and suitability
The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work in both outdoor and indoor environments in all weather conditions;
- Excellent client service skills and interacting with the public;
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- class 5 driver's licence or equivalent
- standard first aid with CPR (to be acquired within 6 months of hire)
- security clearance, including Vulnerable Sector Check
Job Requirements
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:

Shift work, including short notice call-in, weekends and Stats

Wear a uniform provided by the department,

Use personal protective equipment.
