The unit is dedicated to being an efficient and consistent source of academic, career, and professional development services and support for students throughout their academic journey in APSC. The APSC Central Student Services unit has four teams: the APSC Co-op, Experiential Learning and Professional Development team, the Undergraduate Academic Advising Team, the Graduate Academic Programs and Advising Team, and the Academic Systems Team — all under the leadership of the Director, APSC Student Services.
The Associate Director, Academic Systems, Enrolment, and Registration provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for key academic services within Applied Science Student Services, supporting approximately 5,500 undergraduate students and 400 professional graduate students across 14 programs in six departments and three schools within the Faculty of Applied Science. The Associate Director leads the development of innovative business solutions and service models, provides technical and strategic oversight on cross-functional projects, and fosters collaboration across academic and administrative units within the Faculty and the University, with a key focus on championing service excellence and shaping an inclusive, developmental advising culture.
As a senior member of the APSC Central Student Services team, the Associate Director is responsible for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of student services, including admissions, appeals, scholarships, enrolment, registration, transfer credit, international experience, course scheduling, and academic systems such as the Academic Progress Report and Workday Student. The role ensures that services are integrated, student-centred, and aligned with Faculty and institutional priorities.
Working closely with the Director and other senior leaders, this role contributes to the strategic direction of Applied Science Student Services by guiding policy development, program design, and service delivery that enhance the academic, personal, and professional success of Applied Science students.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
The Associate Director represents the Faculty of Applied Science and the University. Decisions must meet university objectives and integrate with the vision and direction of the University. Incorrect decisions/judgments will directly affect the University’s reputation with the professional community, community groups, students, and Applied Science departments and programs.
Incorrect decisions would have an impact on the University’s current and future ability to recruit and retain students and engage alumni; the operation of Applied Science schools, departments, programs, and services; and the reputation of the Faculty of Applied Science and the University.
Service excellence could also be compromised by failure to effectively plan and manage initiatives, projects, resources, and stakeholder relations. Failure to accurately identify and resolve issues within existing systems will impact students’ degree paths and could result in students not qualifying for graduation. Inability to influence at the planning stage of curriculum development could result in multiple years of systems remediation tasks to ensure students are not adversely impacted.
