Location: Winkler Feed Mill
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Salary: Starting wage from $39.61 per hour.
Schedule: Rotating shifts that include weekends, holidays, and occasional alarm response.
Your Opportunity To Make a Difference Are you a mechanically inclined problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment? As a Millwright at Canada Packers , you’ll be directly responsible for the preventative and non-scheduled maintenance of a wide range of production equipment in our feed manufacturing plant. Your work will be essential to keeping our operations running safely and efficiently every day.
What You’ll Be Doing This position reports directly to the Feed Mill Manager and plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining, repairing, and overhauling plant production equipment, buildings, and grounds
- Performing preventative maintenance and implementing improvements or modifications
- Supporting project teams in the design, installation, and commissioning of new or modified equipment
- Keeping accurate records of inspections, repairs, and meter readings
- Scheduling, tracking, and completing preventative maintenance on all machinery and boilers
- Managing sourcing and inventory control of required parts
- Troubleshooting equipment issues and developing solutions independently
- Responding to maintenance issues and alarms on a rotational basis, including weekends and holidays
What you’ll bring:
- Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Class 4 Power Engineer, or equivalent work experience
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial setting
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing equipment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of PLC and controls is an asset
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 is an asset)
