About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer and working closely with leadership across the organization, the Director of Clinical Services will oversee two Clinical Managers, one for Inpatient Services and one for Outpatient Services, providing mentorship, guidance, and clinical expertise to ensure cohesive and integrated care delivery across the continuum. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who embodies our values, understands the intersectionality of health and social determinants of health, and is passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces for healing.
The Director of Clinical Services is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the direction, integration, and performance of both outpatient and inpatient clinical programs. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed care that reflects Casey House’s commitment to dignity, inclusion, and equity.
More specifically, the duties and responsibilities in this role will entail, but are not restricted to:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of clinical operations across outpatient and inpatient services, ensuring alignment with Casey House’s strategic priorities, purpose, values, and philosophy of care.
- Supervise and support the inpatient and outpatient clinical managers, fostering leadership development and team cohesion.
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term strategies to enhance client care delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with best practices and organizational standards.
- Establish standards of practice and enable clinicians to work to their full scope of practice.
- Support and mentor clinical teams to deliver trauma-informed, harm reduction-based, and culturally safe care.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service integration, continuity of care, and community partnerships.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical performance, quality indicators, and client outcomes to inform program development and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to accreditation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service quality, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and performance targets.
- Promote a culture of learning, innovation, accountability, and compassion within clinical teams.
- Work collaboratively with the Strategy team to develop and expand program and services, incorporating evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to meet broader community and client needs.
- Oversee departmental budgets ensuring responsible financial stewardship and aligning resource allocation with strategic and operational priorities to support sustainable, high-quality care delivery.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (preferably Epic), and data analysis.
- Represent Casey House in public forums, building relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Promote Casey House services to enhance community health.
About You:
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in a health-related field.
- Registered health professional with current licensure in Ontario
- Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience, preferably at the Director level, with a strong background in clinical services, preferably in HIV care, mental health, acute care, or complex continuing care.
- Demonstrated commitment to harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and health equity.
- Comprehensive understanding of harm reduction principles, primary care practices, and clinical management.
- Proficiency in budget management, resource allocation, and financial analysis.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities, with a proven track record of driving organizational change and achieving clinical excellence.
- Experience working with marginalized populations and understanding of systemic barriers to care.
- Demonstrated commitment to staying current with best practices in healthcare management and clinical care.
- Ability to proactively adapt services to meet evolving priorities and operational needs, while maintaining a focus on client safety, quality outcomes, and alignment with Casey House's strategic goals.
- Exceptional communication skills and conflict resolution.
- Proven ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with clients, staff, and community partners.
- Proven experience in building collaborative team across disciplines, which work to achieve optimal performance.
Technical Skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced healthcare setting with a commitment to improving client care and fostering a supportive work environment
- Ability to analyze service delivery trends, recommend improvements and implement changes.
- Competence in electronic health records, clinical documentation, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of best practices in harm reduction, withdrawal management, and crisis intervention.
- Strong knowledge of clinical best practices, client safety, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR is an asset.
Additional Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced clinical practice setting.
- De-escalation and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to analyze service delivery trends, recommend improvements, implement changes, and evaluate effectiveness.
