In this role, you won't just analyze data; you will bridge the gap between technical systems and field operations, ensuring our teams have the labor, equipment, and materials they need to serve our community effectively. Joining a team committed to excellence and safety, you will play a pivotal part in shaping how we maintain the city's vital infrastructure.

Reporting to the Supervisor of MIS Planning, our primary mission is to design and implement scalable tools that improve the accuracy and efficiency of resource management. By developing an intimate understanding of day-to-day field activities, you will create forecasting models and trend analyses that directly impact operational effectiveness. This position requires a knack for independent research, creativity and a passion for continuous improvement. Individuals with direct operational and advanced SAP Plant Maintenance experience will excel in this role, leveraging technical knowledge to create valuable resourcing tools.

What will you do?

  • Lead complex planning initiatives to modernize service delivery and improve system processes across the section
  • Design, build, and maintain sophisticated, user-friendly resourcing tools that visualize real-time resource allocations and forecasting
  • Analyze historical performance data to identify trends, proposing strategic adjustments to budgeting and planning approaches
  • Conduct regular audits of material inventory and labor pools, ensuring alignment between SAP records and actual field usage
  • Oversee SAP Plant Maintenance data audits and updates of resource rates and material inventory adjustments
  • Collaborate with diverse internal teams including Finance, Procurement, and Business Analytics to resolve tactical business problems
  • Facilitate workshops and engagement sessions with field leaders to identify and solve resource management challenges

Qualifications:

  • University degree in science, engineering, business administration, statistics, mathematics, commerce, or related discipline
  • Four (4) years of direct experience in financial, project management, and/or resource scheduling/planning support for field operations, supplemented by at least two (2) years of hands-on SAP Plant Maintenance expertise

Assets:

  • Advanced proficiency in SAP ERP (Plant Maintenance)

Skills required for success:

  • Advanced technical proficiency allows you to navigate and update complex databases and ERP systems like SAP with ease
  • Proven experience working with field operations; can clearly articulate how labour, equipment, materials and contractors are utilized to execute maintenance and operations services
  • Experience using resource scheduling software or systems
  • Procurement experience
  • Experience facilitating working groups and presenting to internal collaborators
  • A keen eye for detail ensures that you proactively validate data and maintain the integrity of resource plans
  • Strategic thinking enables you to assess risks and align internal measures with broader organizational priorities
  • Strong communication skills help you translate highly technical information into clear, persuasive recommendations for diverse audiences
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence allows you to build sustaining partnerships with collaborators and effectively implement change
  • Systems thinking provides you with the ability to see how individual resource components impact the entire operational lifecycle
  • Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies (https://bit.ly/4brRrXm)
