About the role

Financial Analyst

We are a North American Leader in the Fabrication sectors with operations across Canada, and the USA. We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing steel components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining, energy, heavy truck and industrial sectors.

We are currently seeking Financial Analyst to join our team. This role supports the Company’s consolidation and reporting process, including the monthly/quarterly analysis of operating results, review of data accuracy and integrity in various systems, participation in monthly operating results meetings; and other projects to support operation and goals of the Finance department. The Financial Analyst reports to the Assistant Corporate Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in financial month-end process in accordance with reporting timelines and Department policies Communicate and follow-up with different departments on data integrity in the financial reporting system (CMS/ERP) Participate in monthly meetings to review, understand and document major performance variances by operating entity through dialogue Bring visibility to potential exceptions to accounting policies and procedures Generate key financial reports and other key operating metrics monthly for distribution to Executive Management Prepare internal and external reporting schedules monthly Assist in the preparation of the quarterly review materials for Executive Management and Corporate Assist with preparation and review of month-end and quarterly records, ensure document maintenance for audit process.

Review of operating entity balances sheets to understand major fluctuations

Assist in the budget preparation through analytics and data integrity Assist in the annual review of year-end files to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting practices Prepare and manage completion of local financial statutory statements Assist in both External/internal audits and reviews Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency and work with team to communicate and implement as required. Comply with requirements as outlined in the company handbook and OHSA. Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and completion of the CMA, or CPA

Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS Strong financial & data analysis skills 2 to 4 years manufacturing accounting experience Supervisory experience is an asset ERP software knowledge and experience. Working knowledge of financial and non-financial measurements systems, lean manufacturing practices and cost management systems strongly preferred Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.

Ability to respect and maintain the confidential nature of the data processed

Ability to establish goals and guide strategic and operational planning in the finance organization. Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to clearly communicate a vision, educate individuals and teams, and influence decisions

Pay Transparency

$70,000-$85,000 annually The compensation for this role is reflective of the successful candidates, skills, abilities, education, market analysis and internal equity and other role specific considerations.
