Job Posting October 9, 2025 Job Title: Medical Receptionist – Part-time 2 days per week Responsible To: Executive Director Accountability: The successful candidate will provide reception and administrative support in a fast paced electronic multi-disciplinary primary care practice.
Qualifications
- Medical Office Assistant diploma or equivalent with relevant experience
- Database software applications experience and the ability to learn new software programs quickly and thoroughly
- Able to effectively, efficiently and pleasantly assist the public and health care professionals
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, be reliable, use strong organizational skills, use well developed critical thinking skills, effective verbal and written skills, commitment to collaboration and team work
Hours Of Work
- Part-time shifts, 8 am to 5 pm or 8:15 am to 5:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
- Two (2) days per week with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts to cover for vacation, etc. The office is open Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Performs support function for personnel and/or programs. This includes the following, although not a full list: answering telephone calls, greeting and registering arriving patients, verifying patient information and data on the patient’s medical record, booking, coordinating and rescheduling appointments
- Acts as part of a work group, assisting & backing up other medical receptionists
- Completes data input, scans & processes reports using clinic EMR computer software.
- Responds to the public in a polite and efficient manner. Answers questions within related program areas according to established guidelines and published information without expressing opinions or interpretations
- Takes messages, transfers to voice mail and refer inquiries to other staff as appropriate
- Completes reports/referrals based on information provided and received
- Treats all personal information in a confidential manner
- Other related duties as assigned
