Hours of Work: 40 hour workweek

Primary Function

Working under the direction of the Training Section Supervisor, this position schedules, sets up, and monitors all training and training records for the department. Schedules and maintains calendars for the training division staff. Enters the status of driver abstracts and permits into the training database. Runs reports to ensure all training requirements are up to date. This position works independently with minimal supervision.

  • Schedule, set up, and monitor all training and training records, both electronic and hard copy.
  • Data entry, record keeping, copying and printing training material.
  • Schedule calendars for training division, including supervisors and training officers.
  • Maintain the tracking of all training records in Versatile and LMS.
  • Audit expiring permits schedule mass training as required.
  • Monitor distribution of Vehicle Inspection Reports/Equipment Inspection Reports and Hours of Service booklets
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

Education

  • Completion of High School (Grade 12) or equivalent plus an additional program of up to one-year in Office Administration or equivalent.

Required Experience

  • Over 1-year experience in an administrative setting.

Required Certification

  • A valid non-probationary class “G” driver’s license.

Other Skills And Assets

  • Ability to obtain City of Brampton City Permit for large pick-up truck classification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Established attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally in all written and verbal communications.
  • Knowledge of MTO procedures, vehicle collision and insurance terminology and principles an asset.
  • Ability to comply with policies and procedures that outline the safe handling of Personal and Private Information (PPI).
