Business Development Associate How does the role impact the organization? Raymond James Ltd. is looking for a qualified Business Development Associate to support Wealth Management growth initiatives for Canada. The candidate will be required to draw on at least five years previous work experience as a team member within a financial services firm. The candidate must have a meticulous attention to detail, possess a positive attitude and have exceptional interpersonal skills, as they will be dealing directly with advisors.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Growth & Development – Canada, you'll demonstrate your leadership and promote the best integrated wealth management offering for our advisors and clients as you work closely with the SVP, Head of Growth & Development, Senior Manager, Business Development, Branch Managers and our partners across Canada.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Provide support to the SVP, Head of Growth & Development and the Manager of Business Development;
  • Keep abreast of, research and analyze industry trends, developments, news and business intelligence and generate and assess ideas and options for opportunities and change integration for advisor recruitment;
  • Gather data from multiple sources, including media, industry surveys, speeches and reports, analyze and prepare information for further analysis, develop solutions and recommendations;
  • Provide back-up support to the SVP of Business Development & Manager Business Development in the recruiting process including head office visits, information management and CRM;
  • Research, identify and recommend new sources, partnerships, ideas and initiatives for recruiting
  • Develop and manage relationships and communications with high-level recruits in support of the EVP’s strategic goals;
  • Source recruiting opportunities and relationships based on personal networking;
  • Organize ad-hoc initiatives with PCG, Branch Managers and Agent Advisors;
  • Identify and recommend solutions, programs or improvements to existing projects to support the organizational recruitment goals and objectives;
  • Manage assigned projects from initiation through to delivery, including Promotion & Awareness of the Raymond James Ltd. Brand; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

What do we expect from you? To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 5 years Investment Industry experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of the wealth management industry;
  • Sound understanding of Investment Advisors' work;
  • Business development experience;
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • Exceptional professional judgment, customer service, and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, and prioritization skills;
  • Must have excellent initiative and the ability to work autonomously;
  • The ability to exercise tact and discretion, as well as handle confidential information; and
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
