ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER – DANSTAR FERMENT A.G

MAIN FUNCTIONS

Joining the Corporate Finance/Accounting team and working for one of the group’s most important entities means being part of a team that works passionately and tirelessly to support all operational business units by providing high-quality and timely financial information.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Controller of “Danstar Ferment AG,” the Accounts Payable Manager will play a key role in leading the Accounts Payable (AP) team. You will be responsible for overseeing daily AP operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, compliance with internal controls, and continuous improvement of AP processes. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the AP team in processing supplier invoices, employee expense accounts, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of high-volume transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor AP aging reports and resolve outstanding issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and business units to ensure proper invoice matching and approvals.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the transition and integration of AP processes into the new FSSC environment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate AP team members to ensure high performance and development.
  • Prepare reports and key performance indicators for management review.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and French.

PERSONAL ABILITIES

Required

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability to change.

GENERAL CRITERIA

Required

  • 5–7 years of experience in accounts payable, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, and best practices.
  • Experience with multi-entity groups.
  • Experience in a multi-currency environment.
  • Knowledge of T&E systems such as Concur.

An asset

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in a shared services or multinational environment is an asset.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Cognos, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Familiarity with AP automation systems such as Medius, Rillion, Basware.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (advanced skills in pivot tables and linking) and other Microsoft Office suite products.
