Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting the following challenging position to join our operations team:
Underground Development Miner (Scissordeck Bolter)
Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson Mine is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. With over 750 team members, the operation is located near the town of Matachewan, centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay, and Sudbury, Ontario. With a large Mineral Reserve base and strong ongoing free cash flow generation, Young-Davidson will serve Alamos’ foundation for many years to come. Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently installing ground support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Install ground support as per company standard;
- Install and maintain services;
- Load development rounds;
- Prepare development faces for Jumbo man;
- Meet the daily productive goals required for the job;
- Must be able to perform preoperational inspections on equipment and operate in an efficient and safe manner; and
- All other duties, as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-5 years’ underground experience;
- Accreditation in U/G common core modules and specialty modules;
- Strong Safety focus;
- Self-motivated ability to work alone;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently;
- Able to read mine plans/drawings; and
- Preferred candidate will possess previous experience as a bolter.
Schedule:5-5-4 rotating schedule
