#About the Role
Cougars Athletics and Recreation is seeking application for the role of Facilities Operations Coordinator. Reporting to the Associate Director, Recreation Facilities, the Facilities Operations Coordinator plays a key role in the safe and efficient operation of the athletics and recreation facilities for recreation programs, varsity teams, students, employees, members and external events. The primary focus is on day-to-day operations and maintenance of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities including gymnasiums, fitness centre, squash courts, turf field, grass fields, tennis courts and running track. Weekend shifts will be required during key event seasons; September through November and January through March. Weekend shifts are reimbursed at the weekend premium rate.
This position is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week.
##Responsibilities
- Facility operations, including administration, staff supervision, risk management, and facility and equipment setup/teardown.
- Management and coordination of equipment to support the needs of internal (HPED, Athletics & Recreation) and external stakeholders (rental groups and special events).
- Prepare outdoor turf and grass fields for all activities, including field lining, surface repairs and associated equipment maintenance.
- Create and implement systems to organize equipment for daily, seasonal and annual availability to meet the needs of all internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and execute comprehensive maintenance schedules and record keeping for all activity spaces and equipment, including facility checks and equipment maintenance.
- Assist in the training and supervision of Facility Attendant student staff.
##Qualifications
- Two-year Diploma from a post-secondary institution or equivalent in a related area.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a relevant work setting managing facilities, equipment and systems.
- Mechanical aptitude, as well as technical skills and experience in maintaining and repairing a large variety of equipment.
- Knowledge of sports and recreational activities related to facility usage and risk management best practices.
- Computer/technical proficiency in Google applications
- Standard First Aid & Basic Rescuer CPR.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Salary:$52,816.40 - $66,848.60 per annum
