Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to the Maintenance team.

Develop and manage the maintenance team’s capabilities, ensuring effective skill development.

Maintain a strong presence on the plant floor, building trust with teams and ensuring maintenance standards are followed consistently.

Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Oversee daily maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and optimized production schedules.
- Approve and prioritize maintenance work orders based on operational impact and safety requirements.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are effective, up-to-date, and consistently executed.
- Coordinate with operations to plan and execute plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major repairs.
- Enforce strict adherence to maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with quality management systems and protect the high quality of the product.
- Develop and implement initiatives to maximize tool time by minimizing administrative delays, improving planning and scheduling, ensuring spare parts availability, and reducing non-productive activities.
Reliability & Asset Management
- Work with the Reliability Engineer to identify recurring equipment failures, root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Champion reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and condition-based monitoring programs.
- Drive continuous improvement in equipment availability, performance, and lifecycle cost optimization.
Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget, including spare parts inventory and contractor services.
- Control maintenance costs while maintaining compliance and performance standards.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance for outsourced maintenance services.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all maintenance work meets safety and environmental requirements for chemical plant operations.
- Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and HAZOP reviews.
- Promote adherence to lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work, and other critical safety procedures.
Reporting & Performance Tracking

Monitor and report key maintenance KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, downtime trends, tool time utilization).

Prepare monthly reports on maintenance performance, reliability improvements, and budget status.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7–10 years of maintenance experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS), reliability engineering principles, and asset management.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong floor presence and ability to lead by example.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
