About the role

Join the team that's taking the risk out of renting for more than 1 million users across Canada and the US.

Renting a home should feel safe and transparent for both tenants and housing providers. Too often, it isn't. It's filled with uncertainty, missing information, and risk.

At SingleKey, our mission is to bring trust, transparency, and accountability to every rental experience. We help housing providers make informed decisions and give tenants the ability to build their reputation and credit in the process.

We're building the infrastructure that powers the rental economy across the US and Canada, and we're looking for a Marketing Intern to help us build brand awareness and drive growth.

The Team

You'll join the SingleKey marketing team, which spans growth analytics, lifecycle marketing, product marketing, SEO, content, and events. We work closely together and move fast! This is a small, high-output team where everyone owns real initiatives, not just tasks.

The Role

This role reports into the Head of Marketing, supporting brand and product marketing, and will work across multiple marketing functions — product marketing, lifecycle, growth, SEO, and events — to help build brand awareness for SingleKey in Canada and the US. You'll partner closely with our product marketing team, freelance events marketer, our content creation agency, and the broader team to keep our brand visible, our channels performing, and our finger on the pulse of the rental industry.

This is not a "fetch coffee" internship. You'll be doing real marketing work with real ownership from day one, and there's strong potential to convert into a full-time role for the right person.

You will

Execute copywriting, messaging, and product marketing basics, monitor performance, and test and iterate across channels you operate in Track and report on channel performance (social, web/SEO, product marketing, email, outbound) and flag trends, insights, or opportunities Spot and initiate community and influencer relations for the team to action, and co-ordinate existing partnerships and deliverables Liaise between teams and departments and ensure that requests are documented, moving on track, and filled accordingly Support proactive brand awareness initiatives, including social campaigns and event activity Own day-to-day community and social media monitoring and posting across our channel Conduct ongoing market research and stay on top of industry news and milestone events across Canada and the US rental markets for content production needs Bring forward your own ideas — test them, measure them, and iterate

What you'll learn

How to build and execute brand awareness strategy across multiple channels How to write short and long form content like a marketer and build product marketing foundations early How to use AI tools to work faster and smarter. Not as a crutch, but as a lever How to work cross-functionally across lifecycle, product marketing, SEO, and events What it actually takes to grow a brand at a fast-moving startup

To Be Successful, You'll Need

To be a recent grad in Humanities, Business, Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field. We’re looking for new talent that hasn’t entered the workforce yet (<1 years of formal experience) A Secondary School diploma or Technical certificate to prove your graduation Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A high level of initiative and self-starting attitude. You spot what needs doing and do it without being asked twice. Genuine eagerness to experiment, test ideas, and learn growth marketing hands-on. Comfort working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. An interest in using AI tools to work more efficiently with the judgment to know when not to rely on them. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A "type A," detail-oriented approach to managing multiple workstreams at once. Bonus: experience with social media management, email marketing platforms, or analytics tools.
