About the role
Our Laborer’s primary responsibilities will be to assist in multiple areas throughout the
manufacturing process that may include, but may not be limited to, performing quality checks, packaging finished products, and moving materials around the facility. The right candidate will have excellent stamina and endurance to sustain physical activity for extended periods of time. The Laborer’s may also be cross trained to operate and/or assist at a Panel Press, Beam Saw, CNC Routers, Glue Spray Booth, and the Thermofoil Press
What you'll be doing:
- Assist machine operators with heavy lifting
- Understand and follow all corporate safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements
- Understand the door manufacturing process flow, keeping workflow organized and clearly marked
- Assist Operators while training to competently operate assigned equipment
- Read technical paperwork and drawings to interpret specifications and machine parameters
- Ensure raw materials, shop equipment and work areas are clean and organized
- Package and crate finished product
- Maintain forklift certification to assist with material transport and machine loading
- Understand department and company goals, strive to meet/exceed these targets
What you bring:
- Minimum of a Highschool degree
- Have the ability to continuously lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
- Trade school education is desired
- High level of concentration, attention to detail and quality control
- Basic math skills - unit conversions, arithmetic operations
- Basic computer skills - Navigating Windows, Microsoft Office and Email
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and the ability to read a tape measure is a must
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of the woodworking community (preferred)
- Prior experience with CNC machines (preferred)
- Customer-service driven
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Works well in a fast-paced workplace and is good at multi-tasking
- Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve and add value to the organization
