Job Summary:
CIMCO is looking to hire a Automation Engineer Co-op student on a 16 month term starting May 2026. This position will be based out of our Burlington office.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide support in the design, configuration, integration, implementation and support of automation solutions for variety of systems in
- Recreation and Industrial refrigeration facilities. This includes the creation of DDC/PLC code and HMI interfaces based on company standards and specifications
- Panel and package testing/checkout for manufactured equipment to ensure that the electrical drawings and design have been followed
- Assist with tasks in the office such as: shipping/receiving preparation of automation components and preparing HMI computers for customers
- Take the lead on small jobs such as equipment and software upgrades. Depending on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated abilities, a candidate could be considered for more complex projects during the progression of the co-op work term
- Document engineering designs, prepare record files
- Contribute to the continuous design improvement process
Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or similar
- Ability to work with customers, consultants, internal staff, and external vendors to coordinate projects.
- Ability to troubleshoot automation control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces and databases.
- Experience with control system networking technologies.
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic instrumentations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to work alone or in a team and accept responsibility for the work performed.
- Ability to prioritize work and deal with conflicts in order to meet deadlines.
