Your Team:
Join Flair’s Crew Planning team, where scheduling and pairing decisions support safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the network. Reporting to the Manager, Crew Planning, the Crew Planning Analyst supports the development and optimization of crew pairings and schedules to improve operational efficiency and resilience. This role works cross-functionally to ensure pairings are cost-effective, compliant, and structured to withstand operational disruption.
The Crew Planning Analyst analyzes pairing performance, identifies optimization opportunities, and supports workforce planning initiatives to improve operational outcomes and overall scheduling effectiveness.
This role is based on-site at one of our offices in Edmonton (YEG), Calgary (YYC), Vancouver (YVR), or Toronto (YYZ).
A Day in the Life:
The duties of the Crew Planning Analyst include:
- Analyze and evaluate crew pairings and schedules to improve operational efficiency, cost performance, and resilience to disruption.
- Conduct business and system process analysis to identify optimization opportunities, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting to measure pairing efficiency, credit ratios, productivity, and training impact.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations to the Manager, Crew Planning.
- Model multiple planning scenarios to assess operational, financial, and training implications.
- Support system upgrades and enhancements by participating in testing, validation, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support crew pairing optimization initiatives aligned with operational requirements.
- Assist with staffing plan analysis and pairing distribution strategies for future planning cycles
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:
- Diploma or degree in Aviation Management, Operations, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Experience:

- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an analyst, crew planning, crew scheduling, workforce planning, or airline operational analysis role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Demonstrated experience working with crew planning and optimization systems such as NAVBLUE or similar airline pairing and crew management platforms.
- Experience utilizing SharePoint and related collaboration tools to manage documentation, reporting, and workflow processes.
- Proven ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends, productivity impacts, credit ratios, and cost drivers.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support planning and operational decision-making.
- Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) as they relate to crew scheduling, duty time limitations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting system upgrades, user testing, or process enhancements within a planning or scheduling environment is considered an asset.

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex operational and scheduling data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with large datasets and time-sensitive planning information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic operational environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess impacts across productivity, cost, and compliance.
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across departments including Operations, Scheduling, and Training.
- Ability to remain adaptable and responsive to operational changes and planning adjustments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain structured documentation and reporting processes.
