17.44 – 18.21 per hour (Category 1)

School Assistant, Healthy Choices

21.81 – 26.01 per hour (Category 3)

Overall Accountability

The School Assistant, Healthy Choices Program will support the implementation and on-going operation of a School Nutrition Program working with the Consultant, Comprehensive School Health and the Principal.

Noon Hour Assistant provides general assistance, direction and supervision to students.

Specific Accountabilities

School Assistant, Healthy Choices

  • Responsible for distribution and service of foods
  • Communicates with outside program vendors
  • Responsible for distribution, collection and cleaning of small wares, dishes etc.
  • Assists with production of food items
  • Records data of food distribution and management
  • Responsible for inventory management of program

Noon Hour Assistant

  • Supervises students in the lunchroom, hallways and playground

  • Oversees students operating the school store

  • Assists in the classroom, office or library as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Commercial food service experience preferred
  • Food Safety Alberta Certification (within last 3 years) preferred
  • Standard First Aid preferred
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License and a vehicle in good operating condition
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
