The base salary will be $62,480 - $89,040 per annum. Starting salary will be aligned with the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and demonstrated qualifications.

About Us
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Food and Nutritional Sciences, and Communication Sciences and Disorders), three large Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Applied Health Sciences and Advanced Health Care Practice and four Research Centres. The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).
Responsibilities
The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Decolonization and Accessibility (EDIDA) Coordinator supports the advancement and integration of EDIDA priorities across the Faculty of Health Sciences. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean EDIDA and the Program Manager, Graduate Programs and Program Development, the Coordinator will participate in relevant initiatives, provide collaborative support, track and support implementation of the EDIDA Action Plan, and work collaboratively to integrate EDIDA principles into curriculum, research, faculty processes, and policies. The Coordinator also supports and facilitates initiatives and training and develops or identifies resources that advance EDIDA awareness and implementation across the faculty.
Qualifications
Education:
- Undergraduate degree with a focus on Health Equity, Equity Studies, Human Rights, Human Resources, Education, Humanities or Social Sciences or another field related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Master’s degree in Health Equity, Equity Studies, Human Rights, Human Resources, Education, Humanities or Social Sciences or another field related to health science and equity, diversity, and inclusion preferred
Experience:
- 2 years experience coordinating EDIDA initiatives within an organization
- Experience developing or facilitating workshops, training, or educational programming
- Previous experience coordinating EDIDA initiatives in an academic or research environment preferred
- Experience conducting research, environmental scans, or policy reviews related to EDIDA preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and related equity-seeking legislation, regulations, anti-racism, anti-Black racism, critical disability, gender, race, and anti-oppression theories
- Demonstrated commitment to, passion for, and knowledge of EDIDA
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting relevant data to inform EDIDA strategy and initiatives, and support evidence-based decision making
- Experience reviewing, analyzing, and synthesizing research and policy documents into accessible formats and communicate findings to diverse audiences
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Office
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to develop accurate and professional reports and documents
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/presentation skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and professional learning activities and events
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Ability to work in a fluid and evolving work environment with changing deadlines and priorities
- Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work
- Proven ability and natural inclination to develop positive and supportive relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful, and diplomatic manner
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
- Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and resolve problems
