About the role

Job Description

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream position in Metaphysics and Epistemology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, and will begin on July 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct research in Metaphysics and Epistemology.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of specialization.
  • Supervise graduate students.
  • Contribute to the academic life of the department and the university.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A PhD in Philosophy or a related field by the time of appointment.
  • A strong record of research and publication in Metaphysics and Epistemology.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching.

Preferred:

  • Experience in interdisciplinary research.
  • Ability to contribute to the department’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
