About the role
POSITION: Dispatcher
REPORTING TO: Team Lead Dispatch and the Guiding Operations Manager
Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing offers a challenging and enjoyable work environment with many benefits. JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Team Lead Dispatch and the Guiding Operations Manager, the primary responsibilities are to maintain radio support for field operations and assist with logistical support and record keeping within the operations department.
We are currently hiring for two (2) part-time positions, with an anticipated start date in early December. Opportunities are available for part-time only, ranging from 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on workload and individual availability.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- provide radio dispatch for field operations
- act as base radio operator during emergency response
- update, train and be proficient with STHS Emergency Response Plan
- prepare, verify, and distribute daily group manifests
- track helicopter, guest and staff locations in field
- record and track helicopter flight time, and fuel usage
- work with all departments to ensure smooth operations and day to day functions
- track and record skier day information, run and zone use
- wildlife tracking and documentation.
- sign out, inventory and maintenance of avalanche transceiver fleet
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Grade 12 or higher
- Radio communication experience, an asset
ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Must be comfortable speaking and writing English
- Capable of operating under stressful conditions
- Intermediate computer skills in word, excel
- Must be able to be self-starting, good at problem solving
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances/ duties
