About the role
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Family Lawyer to join their dynamic and collaborative legal team on a fee-split contractor model. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5+ years of post-call experience, solid litigation exposure, and a strong passion for serving clients in challenging family law matters. Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting disputes, high-conflict litigation, ADR, support, and property division.
- Conduct legal research to assist with case strategy and preparation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in court, mediation, negotiations, and other dispute-resolution settings.
- Collaborate closely with lawyers and external experts to develop effective litigation strategies.
- Stay current on relevant legislation, case law, and emerging legal trends.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team-oriented practice structure.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of post-call experience in Family Law with litigation background.
- Strong written advocacy and legal drafting skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities to assess complex legal issues and provide sound advice.
- Willingness to work under a fee-split compensation model.
- Law Society of Alberta Practising Certificate (required)
- Certificate of Standing (preferred)
- Internationally trained lawyers are welcome to apply.
