Job Description The Prime Contract Manager is a member of the onsite project management team and will assist the Project Director/ Commercial Director with the proper interpretation and management of Client and Subcontract agreements.

  • Contract Management: Management and Supervision of the Prime contract with the Client and the main Subcontracts. Ensure all sub-contractors are up to date and in compliance with all contractual items.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with contractual agreements, including legal, financial, and operational risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Prime Contract and manage contractual compliance across departments. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including permits, licenses, insurance, and bonding.
  • Change Management: Manage change orders and modifications to contracts, assessing impacts on cost, schedule, and scope, and facilitating resolution of conflicts. Management of project specific contractual dispute resolution processes.
  • Land management: Liaison with stakeholders for access to Lands and license agreements.
  • Document Control: Establish and maintain a centralized repository for all contract-related documents, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports and updates on contract status, key performance indicators, and emerging issues for project stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization in contract management practices, implementing best practices and lessons learned from previous projects. Provide coaching and support to project staff engaged in the formation and administration of subcontracts.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of expectations and timely resolution of issues.

Required Skills And Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Building/Civil engineering projects.
  • Drafting and writing contracts.
  • Estimating & Pricing construction scopes.
  • Good working knowledge of design processes and experience in the application of quality systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Managing Major / large value contracts
  • Managing design consultants
  • Proven experience in contract management, preferably in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement practices, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
  • Previous major project Joint Venture experience is desirable.

The compensation package may vary depending on relevant working experience and education and may include an annual base salary between $140,000 and $160,000, benefits, RSP matching contribution, vacation time, and paid sick time.
